Who we are
Bit Shepherds Limited is the controller of the personal data this notice describes. It is a company registered in England and Wales, and its registered particulars are on the about page.

This website
This site is a few static pages and nothing else. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and no scripts, and has no accounts and no forms of its own. We keep no record of who visits.
The tester group
If you ask to join the tester group, Google Groups holds the email address of the Google account you joined with, and nothing else. We use it to announce test builds, and Google Play checks it to decide whether you may install the test version of the game.
You choose to join, and that consent is the basis on which we hold the address. Only the group's owners and managers can see who its members are; other testers cannot see your address. Only we can post to the group, and a reply from you reaches us alone, so nothing you send is shown to anyone else.
Google runs the group for us under its Google Workspace terms, which include a data processing agreement.

The feedback form
The feedback form asks what worked, what did not, and how the game ran on your phone. It does not ask who you are and collects no email address, so a response cannot be tied to a member of the group. Free text holds whatever you type into it, so please leave your name and contact details out; if you would like a reply, write to the group's address instead.
Google Forms holds the responses for us under the same Workspace terms.
The game itself
Oblate has no accounts and asks nothing about you. Your settings and progress are stored on your phone and nowhere else. The game reads the phone's motion sensors to turn a puzzle in your hands, and those readings never leave the phone.
Puzzles are downloaded from a content network the first time you open them. Like any download, that network sees your device's address on the internet and nothing more, and we receive nothing about you from it.
For test builds, Google Play may pass us crash and performance reports, subject to your device's own settings and to Google's privacy policy.
Leaving
You can leave the group whenever you like: send an empty email to the address below from the account you joined with, or ask us. Leaving removes your address from the group, and because nothing else holds it, that is the end of it.

How long we keep it
The test programme is temporary. When it ends we delete the group, and with it every address in it, and we delete every response to the feedback form. That happens when Oblate is released on Android, and no later than the date below whatever happens to the release.

Your rights
Data protection law gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- see the data we hold about you
- have it corrected
- have it erased
- object to how it is used, or ask us to restrict it
- receive a copy in a form you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time
